South Africa is home to many different landscapes, people, wildlife, and experiences. No matter what you love, or what you enjoy doing, there is a destination that fits everyone’s needs.

Whether you are looking for a luxurious resort, or a quiet budget-friendly retreat, South Africa has it all. Each province offering their own unique adventure for you to take part in and experience.

Cape Town

Cape Town has been the go-to destination for many tourists and locals alike for ages now. It is especially popular with couples wanting to enjoy their honeymoon. With the rolling beaches, incredible views, and amazing people, it isn’t hard to see why.

For honeymooners, Cape Town is one of the best places to spend your holiday with your loved one. There is a hotel for every pocket, and it is very easy to get a beautiful room on the beach on your budget, whatever it may be.

Cape Town also offers visitors some incredible sites and adventures. Climb Table Mountain, paraglide off of Signal Hill, shop till you drop at the Waterfront, or enjoy a delicious meal and a glass of wine at one of the many beachside restaurants in Camps Bay.

If you are looking for a quieter holiday, something away from the city lights, Stellenbosch is the perfect place for a relaxing honeymoon. Cape Town is still easily accessible, but you can come back to the calm of the Winelands.

Stellenbosch is known for its incredible wine. There are many farms and wineries to visit all around Stellenbosch, as well as many places to do champagne or wine pairings. If you are a lover of cheese, Stellenbosch has what you are looking for.

Nestled in the mountains, there are also many hiking and walking paths you can trek to reach the top of the nearby mountains, and enjoy the spectacular views of Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Strand, the coast, and even the lights of Cape Town.

Franschhoek

Franschhoek is known for being the home of some of the best restaurants in the country, some of the most luxurious boutique hotels, and of course, centuries of history waiting to be discovered.

If you are a fan of luxury, look no further than this delightful town located a couple of hours outside of Cape Town. the food in this part of the world is absolutely delicious, with the French theme and history seen in every restaurant.

If you are a lover of history and art, there are many old buildings, galleries and museums. If you are lucky enough to be in the town during Bastille Weekend, get ready for the massive french festival that takes over the area.

Ballito

Ballito is one of the most popular destinations for families, couples and friends in Kwazulu Natal. Located near Durban, this area has everything you need, amazing hotels, great food, beaches, and a bustling nightlife scene.

If you are wanting a tropical holiday, but want to keep the trip in budget, Ballito is a great option. Spend your days lazing on the beach, fishing, surfing, and if you are lucky, you may spot a pod of dolphins swimming in the waves.

There are also a number of hotels that fit every budget, all offering a quality stay for high service standards to ensure you are constantly looked after and always comfortable. Dance the night away at one of the many clubs, or have a nightcap at a local watering hole.

Kruger National Park

The world-famous Kruger National Park, found outside of Johannesburg, is a nature lovers dream. If you are wanting a romantic honeymoon, with unobstructed views of the stars and the sounds of nature putting you to sleep every night, this is the place for you.

The national park is enormous, and there are many different accommodation options, from camping in the bush, to luxurious villas, there is something for everything, and something to make your stay unique and memorable.

Wake up early and go for a game walk, or hop onto a 4x4 and spend your day finding the Big 5, with the help of your incredibly knowledgeable guides, before relaxing with a drink, next to the fire at night, and watching your stresses float away with the wind.

Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay is one of the lesser known beach towns in Cape Town, but it should definitely be on your list for possible honeymoon destinations. There is so much to do in this magical town, including getting up close to the biggest predator of the sea.

Mossel Bay has some exquisite beaches, and not all of them are incredibly popular, and not for the wrong reasons. You can easily find a quiet section to set with your loved one and take in the ocean air.

If you are looking for more of an adventure, Mossel Bay has a high concentration of Great White Sharks. There are many companies offering shark cage diving, and it should make it to your bucket list while you are in the area.

Wilderness

Found o the coastal route known as the Garden Route, the Wilderness is a beautiful mix of sun, beach, nature, and forests. There is everything from surfing to hiking, great food, and even better hotels on offer in this Cape gem.

You can spend the day exploring the Wilderness National Park, where you discover tons of local flora and fauna, including plants and birds specific to the area. There are also many hiking trails taking you up routes that give you some of the best views in the area.

If you are more a beach bum, the area has some incredibly pristine beaches that you can relax on, or go for a swim or a surf. You can also visit the famous Wilderness Lagoon, which is a beautiful spot for a sunset picnic.

South Africa has some exquisite honeymoon destinations for you to choose from, and if you are unsure, there is no harm in taking your search from international, to right outside your front door.
