What our happy honeymooners have to say!
The booking process was straightforward and expedient, and we had a great flight to Mauritius and back on SAA. The ground handler was helpful and polite, and waited patiently for us while we changed our money into Rupees before taking us to our driver, who was very pleasant and jovial, and made an otherwise long drive to Solana very entertaining :-)
We arrived at Solana quite late, it was dark and it was raining, but we received a warm welcome, and after filling in all the paperwork, we were shown to our room which was exceptionally clean and decorated very nicely. The staff at Solana are all very professional and helpful and it was definitely a lovely environment to be in. The view of the beach from our balcony was breathtaking! It was always beautiful, and we spent a significant amount of time lounging on the balcony, taking it all in. Also, the shower in the room was perfect!! It was a good size and the pressure and temperature were always spot on...
It rained for the most part during our stay, but that didn't take away from the beauty that Solana had to offer when the sun did come out it shone very brightly and it was lovely to lay back and enjoy cocktails on the beach and at the pool. The pool area is absolutely stunning. On one of the rainy days, we went on the Wild South Tour and it was an incredible experience. We visited the seven coloured sands, the waterfall, the craters, textile shops, and the rum distillery, among other places. It was a day well spent getting to know a little more about Mauritius and we also made friends from different parts of the world on the tour, which was really enriching. We highly recommend the tour, and Usha was an exceptional tour guide :-) It was also nice that the hotel had complimentary water sports that we could enjoy. Between those and relaxing on the beach/ at the pool, we never ran out of things to do at Solana.
