Good day Ed,

Glad to hear from you.

Yes we are back, not particularly happy about it but what can one do.

I can honestly say that Mauritius was an amazing experience and an optimal honeymoon destination. We are probably not the best to compare islands vacations due to Mauritius being our first, but here goes.

Webtours – Exceptional. I can without a doubt say that the service was perfect along the entire journey, from our first quote to the last email. You will be the first to know about our next vacation! We were kept up-to-date the entire time and never felt uncertain about anything. I obtained a few quotes from all over and although the price was relatively the same from all the companies the additional info was the determining factor. The flights with SAA instead of Mauritius Airways as suggested by you was a massive factor, the arrival and departure times were much better and this also meant that we had more time in paradise.

Maurtuco Transfers – Great. Their service was also great and the lady (I forgot her name now) in the hotel was very helpful.

Le Mauricia – Breath taking. The hotel is picturesque and the location majestic (some big words that I don’t sound like a valie ;)). Our room was on the border of a nice view and not a nice view. I can imagine that not every room can have a perfect view: But then I will suggest that they get a hotel map ( like when making a booking on a plane) where the first to book-in can get the chance to choose a room, within limits naturally. A room view, although you are not a lot there, can make or break it for us at least.

To be in Grand Baie is optimal and really great, it was a really nice setting. You are close to everything, the luxurious hotel, activities, shops and the locals. In the taxi from the airport to the hotel we stopped at the other hotels and I think Le Mauricia has the best location of all. I can imagine that older nature lovers ( not to be confused with naturists haha) who want to be separate and out of the buzz will enjoy Le Canonnier more. But for us the hotel was great.

All-inclusive- Worth it for honeymooners. My conclusion, if you stay in a/the hotel it is not worth it to go for the half board option. If you want a cheaper vacation I would suggest renting a villa with friends or a cheaper hotel close to Grand Baie, because there is a supermarket nearby where you can buy food and drinks for cheap. But the advice to go all-inclusive that I received from you, I am happy with.

Activities – A must. It is really nice to have activities included in the package. We did everything available and additional to that went parasailing and took the catamaran to Gabriel Island. Both very cheap for what you get and a must.

Overall it was a really good experience and lovely honeymoon. We were very surprised by the amount of Europeans!!!

Attached is some photos. Please feel free to edit the email, I am a valie and the English is not what is should be :). And if you need reviews of other places, please do contact me as I am sure we will be able to work something out.

Thank you very much once again for an unforgettable honeymoon.

Kind Regards
Bennie and Yolande
