Shoppers will revel in the fact that the shops and bars are a short 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel and even closer, next door, is the fabulous Grand Baie Marina! Amidst this active environment, the Veranda Grand Baie stands as a comforting haven where giant palm trees and flourishing exotic flowers provide shade to afternoon walks and a sandy beach offers the ideal spot for catching a tan. The authentic Creole architecture and traditional rattan cane furniture is mixed with bright and clean contemporary décor touches to create a pleasing ambience which is a huge advance on the somewhat rundown pre-refurbishment hotel.

Dining & Bars
Time frittered away...between the beach and the pool. Welcome to the heart of Veranda Grand Baie Hotel & Spa. Here, everyone gets together over a meal, or after a bout of sunbathing, in one of the two restaurants, or at the bar, or in the lounge.
Mon Plaisir Restaurant
The place where couples gather. The restaurant Mon Plaisir is decorated with authentic Mauritian details such as antique creole furniture and rattan blinds. The buffet, with its refined air, is a backdrop for food of all colours and flavours. The restaurant is known for its themed buffets but also serves a la carte on some nights
Belle Vue Restaurant
Aptly named! It is with your toes in the sand and your head amongst the stars that you will taste the delicious Mauritian cuisine of the Belle Vue restaurant. By day the view on the blue lagoon with the constant to-and-fro of colourful sailing boats is unbelievably beautiful.
Le Tilambic Bar
Fashionable creole bar. At the Tilambic bar, your first task is to get to know the house speciality: different flavoured local rums. The rums are concocted by soaking ingredients such as fruit in the alcohol for a long period. In the evenings there are shows and themed evenings at the bar, with a band or DJ.
Entertainment & Sports
Nothing is more exhilarating than an outing in a sailboat or a kayak, drifting gently along the coast, glimpsing the beautiful beach bungalows for which Grand Baie is famous. For the less sporty, lounging on the beach carries its own special satisfaction! Spread out on wooden sun loungers and watch the to-and-fro of boats in the bay – traffic of a different kind! If you can summon up enough energy in the afternoon maybe you'd like a game of beach volleyball, a football match in the sand or a game of bowls. Oh, and there's the weekly zumba lesson!
When the sun goes down - the hotel will invite you to enjoy evenings with a special theme, around a campfire, with a band or to the sounds of our resident DJ. It's up to you to set the dance floor alight
Discover the Area - No shortage of things to do in Grand Baie!
Grand Baie is a lively town popular with tourists. It is at the hub of Mauritian life and the departure point for many excursions out to sea.
Lively town centre - for those who don't have sea legs, you will be pleased to know that Grand Baie is well connected to the rest of the island by a major motorway and several subsidiary roads. This makes outings by car or by public transport or through travel agencies very easy. For lovers of shopping, or food aficionados or insomniac night birds, Grand Baie is the place to be. There are shops bearing designer labels or selling souvenirs along the main street or in commercial centres. There are restaurants of every kind and to suit every budget. A number of colourful street vendors will tempt you with local delicacies.
In the evening, you can enjoy a cocktail in a bar under palm trees. If you're keen to stay up till the small hours of the morning, the night clubs along the coast will allow you to do just that.
